# Prepare a satellite area from an address

`POST /api/locus_satellite_area_prepare`

Prepares bbox, beforeDate, and afterDate for the satellite imagery endpoint from the same official sources as locus_parcel_lookup. Returns retryInput and dimensions. Needs a dated parcel or rooftop centroid; no interpolated or city-point fallback. Default 1000 m each way is about 4 km2, not the parcel boundary. No rendering. Direct flat-body route for this one free resource; no API key, payment, or catalog wrapper. Return only the cited bounded evidence described here; this route never produces a paid brief or full report.

  - `beforeDate` string, date, required
  - `afterDate` string, date, required: Must be later than beforeDate.
  - `halfExtentMeters` number: Expand this many metres north, south, east and west from the resolved centroid. Default 1000 gives about 4 km², not 1 km².
