# Local ordinance lead-finder (jurisdiction-locked web-search prompt)

`POST /api/locus_ordinance_leads`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.locus.report`
- URL: `https://api.locus.report/api/locus_ordinance_leads`
- Auth: none required

Resolves a US address to the governing city or unincorporated county, not a same-named place, then returns a jurisdiction-locked search prompt, query pack, and official-source targets. Agent runs the search. Locus serves no ordinance text. Right jurisdiction when a place resolves; the section is not guaranteed. Not legal advice. Direct flat-body route for this one free resource; no API key, payment, or catalog wrapper. Return only the cited bounded evidence described here; this route never produces a paid brief or full report.

## Request body

- object
  - `address` string: US street address; resolves the governing jurisdiction (city vs unincorporated county) whose local code is targeted.
  - `place` string: Alternative to address: a place/ZIP to resolve the governing jurisdiction.
  - `topics` string[]: Optional subset of ordinance topics to focus the query pack (e.g. short_term_rental, accessory_dwelling, setbacks).

## Response `200`

Free cited evidence response.
