# Cited property-value appeal deadline calculator

`POST /api/locus_appeal_window`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.locus.report`
- URL: `https://api.locus.report/api/locus_appeal_window`
- Auth: none required

Compute the property-value appeal/protest filing deadline from a US address, two-letter state code, or full state name and, when given, the date on the owner's notice. Pure date arithmetic on a cited rule; returns both candidates for later-of rules; never advises whether to appeal. Covered states: TX GA AZ FL NC CO OH NJ WA CA NY IL MI TN; PA only for Philadelphia. Locality rows: New York City class 1, New York City other classes, Nassau County, Philadelphia. Other localities return coverage guidance to locus_tax_calendar and locus_appeal_filing_guide.
Use this when you can call Locus free tools (REST tools/call or MCP).
Use locus-appeal-window instead when your client can only call paid x402 routes; it returns the same records. Direct flat-body route for this one free resource; no API key, payment, or catalog wrapper. Return only the cited bounded evidence described here; this route never produces a paid brief or full report.
