# Transmission-line proximity + state electricity-price context

`POST /api/locus-electricity-context`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.locus.report`

- Auth: API key in header `PAYMENT-SIGNATURE`

Mapped HIFLD transmission-line proximity and EIA statewide residential price context for a US point before utility diligence. Returns up to 10 lines and state price context, not service, capacity, reliability, tariff, interconnection, timing, or a project cost. Charge-free for an unresolved point or when neither source answers.

## Request body

- object
  - `address` string: US street address. Provide this or latitude+longitude.
  - `latitude` number: Decimal latitude; provide with longitude.
  - `longitude` number: Decimal longitude; provide with latitude.
  - `radiusMeters` integer: Transmission-line search radius in meters; defaults to 10,000 and is capped at 25,000.

## Response `200`

Atomic read result. A substantive result is paid; an empty/out-of-coverage result carries charged:false (x402 settlement suppressed).

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request body.
- `402`: Payment Required. For x402 v2, repeat the identical request with a valid PAYMENT-SIGNATURE header (legacy X-PAYMENT is accepted for compatibility). MPP is disabled for paid-only atomic research.
