# Compose a start frame for a scene (async job)

## Request body

- ComposeStartFrameBody
  - `placementPrompt` string, required: Blocking and composition of the frame.
  - `locationAssetId` string: A plate of this series' location (the original form).
  - `locationRef` string: Any of your images as the plate. One from another series, or a start frame, is copied into the scene's location (or `locationId`) when the frame is composed.
  - `locationId` string: The location a `locationRef` copy goes to; defaults to the scene's location.
  - `characterAssetIds` string[]: Images of this series' characters (the original form).
  - `characters` StartFrameCharacterRef[]: One image per placed character, any of your images: one that is not already that character's is copied into the character's images when the frame is composed. Used instead of characterAssetIds.
    - `characterId` string, required: A character of this series.
    - `ref` string, required: A `ref` from GET /v1/studio/reference-images: `asset:<id>` (a studio image from any of your series) or `library:<id>` (a library upload). A bare id is read as `asset:<id>`.
