# Copy any of your images into a character's images

`POST /v1/studio/series/{seriesId}/characters/{characterId}/image-assets/import`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.lizzflix.xyz` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.lizzflix.xyz/v1/studio/series/{seriesId}/characters/{characterId}/image-assets/import`
- Auth: none declared

`ref` from GET /v1/studio/reference-images (any series, or the library). The character gets its own copy; an image that already is this character's is used as it is. Free; a retry returns the same image.

## Path parameters

- `seriesId` string, required
- `characterId` string, required

## Request body

- ImportImageBody
  - `ref` string, required: A `ref` from GET /v1/studio/reference-images: `asset:<id>` (a studio image from any of your series) or `library:<id>` (a library upload). A bare id is read as `asset:<id>`.
  - `label` string
  - `approve` boolean: Make it the approved image (a first image is approved anyway).

## Response `201`

The character's image

- ImportImageResponse
  - `asset` StudioImageAsset, required
  - `created` boolean, required: False when the image already was one of the target's (used as it is) or was imported before.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid body or reference (`reason`)
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `404`: Character or reference not found
- `429`: Rate limited
