# Queue files for encoding

`POST /files/encode`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.livereacting.com/v1/external`
- URL: `https://api.livereacting.com/v1/external/files/encode`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Queue one or more video files for encoding/optimization.

Encoding settings are determined automatically based on the user's subscription plan.
Files are processed asynchronously. Use the status endpoint to track progress.

## Request body

- EncodeFilesRequest
  - `fileIds` string[], required: Array of file IDs to encode (1-100 files)

## Response `202`

Files queued for encoding

- object
  - `queued` object[]: Files successfully queued for encoding
    - `fileId` string: ID of the queued file
    - `status` 'in_queue': Encoding status
  - `skipped` object[]: Files that were skipped
    - `fileId` string: ID of the skipped file
    - `reason` 'not_found' | 'already_encoding' | 'not_video' | 'unknown': Reason why the file was skipped
  - `message` string: Summary message

## Other responses

- `400`: Validation error
- `401`: Authentication failed
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
