# Start room RTMP egress

`POST /room/{id}/egress`

Create a livestream for your room.
This allows you to leverage livestreaming features like recording and HLS output.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

- RoomEgressPayload
  - `streamId` string, required — The ID of the Livepeer Stream to stream to
