# Amend guest name on a booking

`PUT /bookings/{bookingId}/amend`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://book.liteapi.travel/v3.0`

- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

## Overview

Update guest information (name and email) for an existing booking. Useful for correcting typos or updating guest details after booking.

## When to Use

- **Name corrections** - Fix typos in guest names
- **Email updates** - Update guest email addresses
- **Guest changes** - Change guest information after booking
- **Support requests** - Update booking details per customer requests

## What You Get

- **Confirmation** - Success message when amendment is complete
- **Updated booking** - Booking reflects the new guest information

## Editable Fields

- **First name** - Guest's first name
- **Last name** - Guest's last name
- **Email** - Guest's email address
- **Remarks** - Optional additional notes

## Limitations

- **Holder only** - Only the booking holder's information can be updated
- **Name and email** - Other guest details cannot be amended

## Quick Start

Provide the `bookingId` and updated guest information (firstName, lastName, email). Optionally include remarks. Returns confirmation of the update.

    - `firstName` string, required: The new first name of the booking holder.
    - `lastName` string, required: The new last name of the booking holder.
    - `email` string, required: The new email address of the booking holder.
    - `phone` string: The new phone number of the booking holder.
  - `remarks` string: Optional remarks for the amendment request.

## Response `200`

Amendment request created successfully.

  - `userId` integer: User ID who owns the booking.
  - `type` string: Type of amendment (e.g., UPDATE).
  - `subType` string: Subtype of amendment (e.g., UPDATE_NAME_CHANGE).
  - `status` string: Status of the amendment request (e.g., PENDING).
  - `prebookId` string: Prebook ID if applicable.
  - `holderEmail` string: Holder's email after amendment.
  - `holderFirstName` string: Holder's first name after amendment.
  - `holderLastName` string: Holder's last name after amendment.
  - `holderPhone` string: Holder's phone after amendment.
  - `remarks` string: Remarks for the amendment.
  - `guests` unknown[]: List of guests (if any).

  - `createdBy` integer: User ID who created the amendment request.
  - `createdAt` string: Timestamp when the amendment was created.
  - `updatedAt` string: Timestamp when the amendment was last updated.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request. Invalid input or missing required fields.
- `401`: Unauthorized. Invalid or missing API key.
