# Create an API key (tier=sandbox returns mock data)

Free sandbox key, no wallet. The sandbox covers entity, risk and KYB checks; Lead Verify and the agent check need a live key or an x402 payment. Send tier=sandbox for an lg_sandbox_ key that returns mock data at no charge, or omit it for a free key that pays per call. Free, no payment.

## Request body

- object: Request to create a new API key.
