# Delete a beneficial owner

`DELETE /beneficial-owners/{beneficialOwnerId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.lightspark.com/grid/2025-10-13`
- URL: `https://api.lightspark.com/grid/2025-10-13/beneficial-owners/{beneficialOwnerId}`
- Auth: HTTP basic

Remove a beneficial owner from a business customer. The owner's uploaded documents are deleted with them, and the customer's verification status is recomputed without this owner. The request is rejected while a verification review that includes this owner is in progress; wait for the review to finish and retry.

## Path parameters

- `beneficialOwnerId` string, required

## Response `204`

Beneficial owner deleted successfully

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized
- `404`: Beneficial owner not found
- `409`: Conflict. A verification review that includes this beneficial owner is in progress. Retry after the review finishes.
- `500`: Internal service error
