# Create or update company budget

`PUT /api/v3/billing/budget`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.lighton.ai`

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Set or update the company's monthly spend budget. Requires CompanyAdmin role. Creates the budget on first call; updates it on subsequent calls.

## Request body

- BudgetCreateOrUpdateRequest
  - `is_enabled` boolean: Whether the budget is actively enforced.
  - `amount_eur` string, required: Monthly budget cap in EUR (max 999,999,999.99).

  - `is_enabled` boolean, required: Whether this budget is actively enforced.
  - `amount_eur` string, required: Monthly budget cap in EUR.
  - `currency` string: ISO 4217 currency code.
  - `current_cycle_start` string, required: First day of the current billing cycle (ISO date).
  - `next_cycle_start` string, required: First day of the next billing cycle (ISO date).
  - `monthly_spend_eur` string, required: Current month's spend in EUR.
  - `available_eur` string, required: Remaining budget for the current cycle in EUR.
  - `alerts` BudgetAlertResponse[]: Alert thresholds.

## Other responses

- `201`
- `503`: API is under maintenance. Check `GET /api/v3/system/status` for active periods and retry.
