# POST /{country}/{version}/{level}/traveltime

`POST /{country}/{version}/{level}/traveltime`

Search for all regions with a specified travel time of a point. By default, the maximum travel time is 120 minutes.

This endpoint requires additonal permissions, please [contact us](https://docs.lightcast.dev/contact) if you'd like access to traveltime.

**Traveltime access claims**

The following scopes allow access to traveltime:

* `gis:traveltime_access` - Gives access to the `/traveltime` endpoint. Returns codes and traveltimes.
* `gis:traveltime_polygon` - Add this scope to return geojson polygon as well.

**Traveltime limit**:

By default, all clients with `gis:traveltime_access` claim can request up to 120 minutes travel time. This limit can be increased up to 300 minutes with a client claim of the form `gis:traveltime:{limit}`.

So for example, `gis:traveltime:300` will allow clients to request a maximum of 300 minutes travel time.

## Request body

- TraveltimeRequest
  - `lat` number, required
  - `lon` number, required
  - `traveltimes` integer[], required: Up to 6 travel times (drive times) can be run at a time. By default, the maximum travel time is 120 minutes, but more can be requested.
  - `intersectionMethod` 'contained' | 'centroid' | 'touching': * `touching` - Any region that is touching (intersects) the requested area. * `centroid` - Any region's who's centroid lies inside of the requested area. * `contained` - Any region that lies entirely inside of the requested area.

- TraveltimeResponse: Travel time response structure.
  - `traveltimes` object[], required
    - `traveltime` integer, required: Travel time in minutes.
    - `geojson` object
      - `type` 'Feature', required: The type of the geojson object. Always a feature.
      - `geometry` object, required
        - `type` 'Point' | 'MultiPoint' | 'LineString' | 'MultiLineString' | 'Polygon' | 'MultiPolygon', required
        - `coordinates` string[], required
      - `properties` object, required
    - `codes` string[], required

## Other responses

- `400`: Your request wasn't valid (bad parameter names or values).
- `403`: You don't have access to traveltime data.
- `404`: Resource not found.
- `500`: The service is not healthy (e.g. can't connect to datastore).
