# Request a paid forced fresh read

`POST /v1/sources/{id}/fresh`

## Request

Start without PAYMENT-SIGNATURE to receive the currently configured USDC terms in HTTP 402, then retry with the signed header. A Bearer key with fresh-read credits is the alternative paid rail. A successful request returns 202 and no rows; poll the stored-rows URL for the next published snapshot.

## Response `202`

Forced reread accepted. The body contains a ticket and the free stored-rows URL to poll; it contains no rows.

## Other responses

- `400`: Missing or invalid Idempotency-Key on the credit rail.
- `401`: Missing or invalid Bearer key on the credit rail.
- `402`: Live x402 payment terms, insufficient fresh-read credits, or an explicit statement that no payment rail is available. PAYMENT-REQUIRED is present only when payable x402 terms exist.
- `404`: The source is not maintained.
- `409`: The source cannot be reread from this surface.
- `429`: Fresh-read request rate limit reached.
- `503`: Fresh reading or payment verification is temporarily unavailable. Do not create a new payment when settlement or verification cannot be confirmed.
