# Refund an expired or vetoed settlement

`POST /v1/settlements/{id}/refund`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Owner-only. Balance releases its hold, Stripe refunds the original payment, and x402 payments are returned in USDC. No fee is charged.

- `id` string, uuid, required

## Response `200`

Refund complete.

## Other responses

- `202`: Wallet refund is pending confirmation.
- `409`: Wrong settlement state.
