# Permanently cancel an unattended policy

`DELETE /v1/policies/{id}`

## Request

Reservations the policy holds on pots nobody has started go back to the owner's balance (released_reservations). Pots already in progress keep them until accepted or withdrawn. Any reservation on a pot still unstarted after 30 days is released as well.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, uuid, required

## Response `200`

Policy cancelled; released_reservations counts the reservations returned.

## Other responses

- `404`: No owned policy.
