# Raise an owned live bounty amount

`PATCH /v1/bounties/{id}`

## Request

Raises an open or in-progress posted bounty. The amount must increase; pot and repair bounties use pledges instead. A live prefunded x402 payment prevents the change. A card checkout from posting that is not paid yet is closed first, and the new amount is paid with a new checkout. A bounty already paid for answers 409; add to it with a pledge. The dashboard raise form is available only before payment.

    - `payment_note` string: Present when the unpaid posting checkout was closed; pay the new amount with a new checkout.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid amount or a pot/repair bounty.
- `401`: Requester authentication required.
- `403`: The bounty belongs to another requester.
- `404`: No such bounty.
- `409`: The bounty is not live, has a live x402 payment, or is already paid for (add to it with a pledge).
- `503`: The amount could not be changed.
