# Import a SQL Server backup file

`POST /v1/databases/{databaseID}/mssql-bak`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.liara.ir`
- URL: `https://api.liara.ir/v1/databases/{databaseID}/mssql-bak`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Downloads a `.bak` file from a URL into an `mssql` database, so you can restore it. Follow it with `GET /v2/databases/{databaseID}/operations-status`.

This endpoint is rate limited. Team permission: `operate` or `manage`.

## Path parameters

- `databaseID` string, required: 24-character hexadecimal ID.

## Query parameters

- `teamID` string: 24-character hexadecimal ID.

## Request body

- BackupFileURL
  - `url` string, uri, required: An `http` or `https` URL the file can be downloaded from.

## Response `200`

The import started. The response body is empty.

## Other responses

- `400`: The body or `teamID` is invalid, or the database isn't `mssql`.
- `401`: The API token is missing, invalid or expired.
- `403`: With `teamID`: you aren't a member of the team (`team_not_found`), or you don't have the required permission on this database (`no_permission`).
- `404`: The database doesn't exist.
- `429`: Too many requests. Wait and try again later.
