# Create a custom field option

`POST /v1/businesses/{client_id}/custom-fields/{custom_field_id}/options`

Adds a new option to a `LIST` type custom field.

Not permitted for `FREE_TEXT` custom fields or custom fields created by accounting integrations.

## Path parameters

- `client_id` integer, required
- `custom_field_id` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- CreateCustomFieldOptionRequest
  - `text` string, required — The display text for this option.

## Response `201`

Created

- CustomFieldOption
  - `id` string, uuid — The unique identifier for this option.
  - `text` string — The display text of this option.
  - `enabled` boolean — Whether this option is available for selection.
  - `created` string, date-time — The date and time when this option was created.
  - `updated` string, date-time — The date and time when this option was last updated.
