# Update a contact

`PATCH /contacts/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://ledgerhq.pro/api/v1`
- URL: `https://ledgerhq.pro/api/v1/contacts/{id}`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer and API key in header `x-organization-id`
  - HTTP bearer and API key in header `x-organization-id`

isActive=false marks the contact inactive (hidden from pickers and default lists, history kept); isActive=true reactivates it. type switches between customer, supplier (vendor), and both. A rename onto another live contact's normalized name is refused with 409 duplicate_contact.
