# Freeze an account

`POST /internal/accounts/{accountID}/freeze`

Stop an account spending credits on a human's decision rather than a fraud signal. The account keeps working otherwise - it can log in, browse and export what it already produced. Use this rather than a raw database update: it also sets the cached flag the enrichment row tasks read, so a run already holding an upfront credit reservation stops too. It applies regardless of FRAUD_GUARD_ENFORCEMENT_ENABLED, overrides an earlier unfreeze, and is a no-op on an already-frozen account.
