# Email Lookup

`POST /v1/email-lookup`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.leadboxer.com`
- URL: `https://api.leadboxer.com/v1/email-lookup`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key`

Retrieve the professional profile of a contact by email address. Only the email is required; name and company are optional hints that improve matching. Available on every plan. Credits are only consumed when a profile is found.

The same lookup is also available as GET /v1/email-lookup?email=..., but POST is recommended because it keeps the email address out of URLs and server logs.

Returned Data
When a match is found, the following fields are returned:

Contact details
- email
- fullName
- headline
- linkedinUrl
- seniority
- jobFunction
- location

Languages
- languages[].name
- languages[].proficiency

Experience
- experience[].title
- experience[].companyName
- experience[].startYear
- experience[].endYear
- experience[].current

## Request body

- ContactEnrichmentRequest: Contact enrichment request. Only the email is required; the other fields are optional hints that improve matching.
  - `email` string, required: Email address of the contact to enrich
  - `firstName` string: First name of the contact
  - `lastName` string: Last name of the contact
  - `companyName` string: Name of the company the contact works for
  - `companyDomain` string: Domain of the company the contact works for

## Response `200`

Successfully retrieved contact profile

- ContactProfileDetails: Professional profile of a contact, returned when the email address is matched
  - `email` string: Email address that was looked up
  - `fullName` string: Full name of the contact
  - `headline` string: Profile headline
  - `linkedinUrl` string: LinkedIn profile URL
  - `seniority` string: Seniority level
  - `jobFunction` string: Job function
  - `location` string: Location of the contact
  - `languages` Language[]: Languages the contact speaks
    - `name` string: Language name
    - `proficiency` string: Proficiency level
  - `experience` Experience[]: Work experience, most recent first
    - `title` string: Job title
    - `companyName` string: Company name
    - `startYear` integer: Start year
    - `endYear` integer: End year, empty for the current position
    - `current` boolean: Whether this is a current position

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request: The request is invalid or malformed (missing/incorrect parameters).
- `402`: Payment Required: The client has exceeded credit limits.
- `403`: Forbidden: The authenticated user does not have permission to access this resource.
- `404`: Not Found: The requested resource does not exist.
- `409`: Conflict: The request could not be completed due to a resource state conflict.
- `429`: Too Many Requests: Rate limit exceeded. The client has sent too many requests in a given time period
- `500`: Interval Server Error: An unexpected error occurred on the server.
