# Email a login code

`POST /auth/request-code`

## Request

Sign up or log in without the studio: emails a 6-digit code that `/auth/verify-code` trades for an API key. Creates a free account on verify if none exists for the email. The response is the same whether or not an account exists. Disposable email domains are rejected. One code per email per minute, five per hour.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid input
- `429`: Too many requests; retry after `Retry-After` seconds
- `503`: Email login is temporarily unavailable
