# Delete one rule

`DELETE /v1/rules/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://www.layercall.com`
- URL: `https://www.layercall.com/v1/rules/{id}`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `x-api-key`
  - HTTP bearer

Removes a single allow/block rule by id. The coarse operation — DELETE /v1/rules?confirm=true, which removes EVERY rule — was in this spec and this precise one was not, so a generated client got clearRules and no deleteRule. Returns 404 when the id is a well-formed uuid that belongs to no rule on your account, and 400 when it is not a uuid at all.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, uuid, required

## Response `200`

The rule was deleted.

- object
  - `deleted` boolean
  - `id` string, uuid
  - `request_id` string

## Other responses

- `400`: The id is not a uuid.
- `404`: No rule with that id on this account.
