# Delete an LKS cluster

`DELETE /lks/clusters/{id}`

Marks the cluster for deletion. The call returns as soon as the tombstone is written; the platform then tears the cluster and its node pools down asynchronously. A cluster that is already deleted, or that is paused, rejects the request.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Response `204`

No Content

## Other responses

- `403` — Forbidden
- `404` — Not Found
- `409` — Conflict — the cluster is paused
- `502` — Bad Gateway — NetBox is temporarily unavailable
