# List discovered agents (trace sources no agent claims)

`GET /api/v1/agents/discovered`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app.lastping.dev`
- URL: `https://app.lastping.dev/api/v1/agents/discovered`
- Auth: API key in header `X-Api-Key`

Trace sources that sent spans to one of this project's monitors but
whose OpenTelemetry `service.name` matched no agent's slug or name.
Their traces were stored and are listed under the monitor; nothing
was dropped. Adopt one with
`POST /api/v1/agents/discovered/{id}/adopt` to count later traces
from it under an agent. Sources already adopted are not listed.

## Response `200`

The unadopted trace sources.

- DiscoveredAgentList: The body of `GET /api/v1/agents/discovered`.
  - `discovered` DiscoveredAgent[], required: Not yet adopted, most recently seen first, at most 200.
    - `id` string, uuid, required
    - `source_name` string, required
    - `first_seen_at` string, date-time, required
    - `last_seen_at` string, date-time, required
    - `span_count` integer, required
    - `suggested_agent_id` string, uuid, nullable, required: A registered agent whose slug or name now matches the source (merge into it), or null.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
