# Share a run

`POST /api/v2/runs/{run_id}/share`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.smith.langchain.com`
- URL: `https://api.smith.langchain.com/api/v2/runs/{run_id}/share`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - API key in header `X-Tenant-Id`
  - HTTP bearer

Creates or returns a share token for a run. Child runs share their trace root.

Self-hosted deployments require LangSmith `v0.16` or later.

## Path parameters

- `run_id` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- ShareCreateShareTokenRequestBody
  - `session_id` string, uuid, required: session_id is the tracing project UUID containing the trace.
  - `trace_id` string, uuid, required: trace_id is the root trace UUID to share.

## Response `200`

OK

- ShareCreateShareTokenResponseBody
  - `share_token` string, uuid

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: Not Found
- `413`: Request Entity Too Large
- `500`: Internal Server Error
