# Restart a backfill job

`POST /api/v1/platform/ops/backfills/restart`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.smith.langchain.com`
- URL: `https://api.smith.langchain.com/api/v1/platform/ops/backfills/restart`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - API key in header `X-Organization-Id`
  - HTTP bearer

Deletes the backfill job record, causing the backfill to restart from the beginning on the next cron tick. Requires instance admin access.

- BackfillsRestartBackfillRequest
  - `backfill_name` string

## Response `200`

Backfill restarted

- `400`: Bad request
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: Backfill not found
- `500`: Internal server error
