# Delete a gateway policy

`DELETE /api/v1/platform/gateway-policies/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.smith.langchain.com`
- URL: `https://api.smith.langchain.com/api/v1/platform/gateway-policies/{id}`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - HTTP bearer

Deletes a gateway policy. Subsequent reads return 404.

**default cascade:** deleting a `default_spend_cap` or
`default_rate_limit` also deletes every child policy
materialized from it.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, uuid, required

## Response `204`

No Content

## Other responses

- `400`: validation error
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: LLM Gateway not enabled, or caller lacks organization:gateway:manage
- `404`: policy not found
- `500`: Internal Server Error
