# Remember

`POST /kythene.v1.KytheneService/Remember`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://kythene.com` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://kythene.com/kythene.v1.KytheneService/Remember`
- Auth: none required

Remember stores a memory (with tags and an optional project scope).
Remembering the same title in the same project supersedes the existing
 memory (versioned; approvals clear).

## Headers

- `Connect-Protocol-Version` 1, required: Define the version of the Connect protocol
- `Connect-Timeout-Ms` number: Define the timeout, in ms

## Request body

- KytheneV1RememberRequest
  - `body` string: body is the memory content (markdown welcome).
  - `title` string: title names the memory; defaults to the body's first line. Re-using a title within a project supersedes that memory.
  - `project` string: project scopes the memory (per-project memory); empty = space-wide.
  - `tags` string[]: tags label the memory for later filtering (created in the space if new).
  - `type` string: type is an OPTIONAL light classifier for the memory. Suggested values: decision, how-to, gotcha, reference, person, meeting. Free text - any label is accepted and it may be left empty (untyped). It informs recall filtering and display; it is not enforced.
  - `aliases` string[]: aliases are extra names a [[wikilink]] can use to reach this memory, on top of its title. Each is normalised to a slug, so both "SEO Plan" and "seo-plan" match. Use this on import/migration to carry a note's original filename (e.g. the Obsidian vault slug) so `[[filename-slug]]` resolves to the memory even after its title was rewritten. Optional.
  - `private` boolean: private, when true, stores the memory author-private: visible only to you, never returned by anyone else's recall. Use it when the memory summarises sensitive material. It only tightens - leaving it false does not override a restriction the server inherits from restricted content you read this session.
  - `supersedes` string: supersedes optionally names the id of an EXISTING memory to replace, regardless of its title. Use it to be certain you are updating a specific memory rather than trusting a title match - and to heal a near-miss fork (e.g. "Deploy gotcha" vs "Deployment gotcha") by superseding the old memory with the corrected title in one call. The id must be a memory in this space that you can write, or the call errors. When set, the title-match path is bypassed; leave it empty for the default conversational behaviour.
  - `space` string: space optionally selects which of your spaces to act in (an id or name from list_spaces). Omit it when you belong to a single space.

## Response `200`

Success

- KytheneV1RememberResponse
  - `id` string
  - `superseded` boolean
  - `restricted` boolean: restricted is true when the memory was stored private (author-private or a shared private project) - because you set private, or because it was derived from restricted content you read this session and the server scoped it down so it cannot leak. Surfaced so a scoping-down is visible, not silent.
  - `url` string: url is the memory's canonical link - hand THAT to a person, never the bare id.

## Other responses

- `default`: Error
