# GetPage

`POST /kythene.v1.KytheneService/GetPage`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://kythene.com` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://kythene.com/kythene.v1.KytheneService/GetPage`
- Auth: none required

GetPage returns one page: its body, its state, the revision to write
against, and what links to it.

## Headers

- `Connect-Protocol-Version` 1, required: Define the version of the Connect protocol
- `Connect-Timeout-Ms` number: Define the timeout, in ms

## Request body

- KytheneV1GetPageRequest
  - `wiki` string: wiki is the wiki the page is in - its id or slug. Required when addressing a page by path; optional when `page` is an id.
  - `page` string: page is the page's id or its full path within the wiki.
  - `space` string: space optionally selects which of your spaces to act in (an id or name from list_spaces). Omit it when you belong to a single space.

## Response `200`

Success

- KytheneV1GetPageResponse
  - `page` KytheneV1PageSummary: PageSummary is one page's place in the tree: enough to navigate, not enough to read.
    - `id` string
    - `title` string: title is the page's heading.
    - `path` string: path is the page's full path within its wiki, e.g. "handbook/day-one".
    - `parent` string: parent is the id of the page above it; empty for the wiki's root.
    - `depth` integer
    - `state` string: state is one of: draft, awaiting_approval, published, published_draft_changes, archived, deletion_scheduled.
    - `restricted` boolean: restricted is true when this page sits in a subtree that is fenced off to named people - you can see it, so you are one of them.
  - `body` string: body is the markdown you are reading: the published version for a reader, the newest version for someone who can edit.
  - `baseRevision` integer: base_revision is the revision this body came from. Pass it back as base_revision on update_page - a write against a superseded revision is refused rather than silently overwriting whoever got there first.
  - `publishedRevision` integer: published_revision is the revision readers currently see; 0 when nothing has been published.
  - `viewingDraft` boolean: viewing_draft is true when this body is NOT what readers see.
  - `publishedAt` string: published_at is when the live version went out (YYYY-MM-DD), empty if never.
  - `linksHere` KytheneV1PageLink[]: links_here is the pages that link TO this one - who depends on it, which is the half that matters before you change something.
    - `id` string
    - `title` string: title is the page's heading.
    - `path` string
  - `linksTo` KytheneV1PageLink[]: links_to is the pages this one links to.
    - `id` string
    - `title` string: title is the page's heading.
    - `path` string
  - `url` string: url is the page's canonical link.
  - `watchers` integer: watchers is how many people are watching this page. Check it before publishing a significant change - it should be a deliberate act.
