# Create Team

`POST /v3/portals/{portalId}/teams`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://global.api.konghq.com`
- URL: `https://global.api.konghq.com/v3/portals/{portalId}/teams`
- Auth: one of:

  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP bearer

Creates a developer team in a portal. Developers can be added to teams to provide RBAC access to API products. Teams can be assigned roles that grant permissions to perform an action on a resource.

## Request body

- PortalCreateTeamRequest: Details about a team to create.
  - `name` string, required: The name of the team.
  - `description` string, nullable: The description of the team.
  - `can_own_applications` boolean: Whether the team is allowed to own applications
  - `konnect_managed` boolean: Indicates whether the team is managed by Konnect.

## Response `201`

Details about a team of developers in a portal.

- PortalTeamResponse: Details about a developer team.
  - `id` string, uuid, required
  - `name` string, required: The name of the team.
  - `description` string, required: The description of the team.
  - `created_at` string, date-time, required
  - `updated_at` string, date-time, required
  - `can_own_applications` boolean, nullable: Whether the team is allowed to own applications.
  - `konnect_managed` boolean: Indicates whether the team is managed by Konnect.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: Not Found
