# Retrieve a comment on an asset

`GET /assets/{asset_id}/comments/{comment_id}`

Retrieve one top-level comment on an asset, with its replies. Reply IDs return 404; fetch the parent comment instead.

- `401`: Unauthenticated
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: Not Found - the asset does not exist or is outside your brands, or the comment is not a top-level comment on this asset.
- `default`: Unexpected server error.
