# Create a company

`POST /companies`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.klipy.ai/api/v1`
- URL: `https://api.klipy.ai/api/v1/companies`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-Klipy-Api-Key`
  - HTTP bearer

Creates a company. If the domain already exists within the organization, returns 200 with the existing company id (idempotent-style create).

  - `domain` string, required
  - `name` string

## Response `200`

Company already exists in this organization; existing id returned

## Other responses

- `201`: Company created
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `403`: Insufficient scope for this operation
- `409`: Conflict — the request conflicts with the current state of the resource
- `422`: Validation error - request body failed validation
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
- `500`: Internal server error
