# Release universe

`POST /universes/{universe_instance_id}/release`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.klavis.ai`
- URL: `https://api.klavis.ai/universes/{universe_instance_id}/release`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Release and Reinitialize the universe to its initial state.

This immediately returns and handles reset/initialization in the background.
Only gcalendar and notion setup methods use sandbox (which call reset internally).
Others need explicit reset before re-initialization.

## Path parameters

- `universe_instance_id` string, required

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- ReleaseUniverseResponse: Response after releasing a universe to idle state
  - `message` string, required: Release confirmation message
  - `released_at` string, date-time, required: Timestamp of release

## Other responses

- `422`: Validation Error
