# Create dashboard

`POST /api/v2/dashboards`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.kiloiot.io`
- URL: `https://api.kiloiot.io/api/v2/dashboards`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key` and API key in header `X-Organization-Id`

Create a new dashboard or folder.

**Required scope:** `dashboards:write`

## Request body

  - `type` 'dashboard' | 'folder', required: 'dashboard' or 'folder'
  - `parentId` string: Parent folder ID (null for root)
  - `description` string
  - `icon` string

  - `configuration` string: JSON configuration string
