# Update a project by ID or name

`PATCH /projects/{id_or_name}`

Update a project's name or status.

## Path parameters

- `id_or_name` string, required

## Request body

- UpdateProjectRequest
  - `name` string: New project name (1-255 Unicode code points; cannot contain `/` or `%`)
  - `status` 'active' | 'archived': New project status

## Response `200`

Project updated

- Project
  - `created_at` string, date-time, required: When the project was created
  - `id` string, required: Unique project identifier
  - `name` string, required: Project name
  - `status` 'active' | 'archived', required: Project status
  - `updated_at` string, date-time, required: When the project was last updated

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request – invalid input
- `401`: Unauthorized – missing or invalid authorization token
- `403`: Forbidden – insufficient permissions or plan
- `404`: Resource not found
- `409`: Conflict – resource already exists
- `500`: Internal Server Error
