# Trim or extend a clip

`POST /jobs/{id}/clips/{index}/adjust`

## Request

Moves the clip's start and/or end relative to its ORIGINAL bounds (repeated calls do not accumulate; positive extends, negative trims) and re-renders it, through the same pipeline as the dashboard's Adjust length. The result must last 3-180 s and stay inside the source. Extending re-cuts from the source, kept 7 days (410 after). Versioned: the original clip is kept. No video quota. Requires write scope.

## Request body

- object
  - `start_offset_seconds` number: Positive = start earlier (extend), negative = start later (trim).
  - `end_offset_seconds` number: Positive = end later (extend), negative = end earlier (trim).

## Response `202`

Re-render queued

- object
  - `rerender_id` string
  - `status` 'queued'
  - `status_url` string, uri: Poll GET /jobs/{id}/rerenders/{rerender_id}.
  - `start_seconds` number: New start, in source seconds.
  - `end_seconds` number: New end, in source seconds.
  - `duration_seconds` number
  - `extended` boolean: true when the clip goes past its original bounds.
