# Creating a new Survey Answer

`POST /survey_answers`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.mavenlink.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://api.mavenlink.com/api/v1/survey_answers`
- Auth: none declared

This endpoint returns structured Survey Answer objects.
As with all Kantata OX API endpoints, the returned data will be referenced in sorted order in the `results` array
and will be indexed by ID in the `survey_answers` top-level JSON key.

## Request body

  - `survey_answer` object
    - `survey_response_id` integer, required: Survey Response associated with the answer.
    - `survey_question_id` integer, required: Survey Question that is being answered.
    - `date_value` string, date: The date value for the answer. The date must be in [ISO 8601](https://www.w3.org/TR/NOTE-datetime) format.
    - `string_value` string: The string value for the answer.
    - `integer_value` integer: The integer value for the answer.
    - `decimal_value` number, float: The decimal value for the answer.
    - `choice_values` string[]: An array of choice values for the answer.
    - `choice_ids` integer[]: An array of choice ids for the answer.

## Response `200`

Survey Answer has been created.
