# Update Taxonomy

`PUT /api/v1/custom-taxonomies/{taxonomy_id}`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Replace the full tree atomically and bump ``version``.

## Path parameters

- `taxonomy_id` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- UpdateCustomTaxonomyRequest: Atomic replace-tree update. The whole tree is replaced; clients send the desired final state. The server bumps ``version`` so historical ``scan_taxonomy_classifications`` can be tied back to a snapshot.
  - `name` string, required
  - `description` string
  - `show_in_public_report` boolean: Show this taxonomy's tiers on the unauthenticated shared scan report. Full-replace like every other field: omitting it hides the taxonomy.
  - `nodes` TaxonomyNodeRequest[]
    - `client_id` string, required
    - `parent_client_id` string, nullable
    - `name` string, required
    - `description` string
    - `is_default` boolean
