# Request Password Reset

`POST /api/v1/auth/password/reset-request`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://memory.kagura-ai.com` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://memory.kagura-ai.com/api/v1/auth/password/reset-request`
- Auth: none declared

Email a password-reset link if the address names an eligible account.

Always answers 202 with the same body. The request path only checks the
rate limits and schedules the same background task for every address;
the account lookup, the token, the audit row and the email all happen
after the response, on their own session, so neither the answer nor its
timing reveals whether an account exists. Limited per client address
(429) and per address (silently: no further emails).

## Request body

- PasswordResetRequestBody: Body for POST /auth/password/reset-request.
  - `email` string, required

## Response `202`

Successful Response

- PasswordEmailAcceptedResponse: Identical for every reset request, whether or not an email was sent.
  - `status` 'accepted'
  - `message` string

## Other responses

- `422`: Validation Error
