# Stop a running workflow

`PUT /v4/workflows/{workflowId}/stop`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.kadoa.com`
- URL: `https://api.kadoa.com/v4/workflows/{workflowId}/stop`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key`

Cancels the active run for the specified workflow. Queued and pending steps are removed from the pipeline; the in-flight step may still complete.

- `workflowId` string, required

Workflow stop initiated

## Other responses

- `400`: No running job found
- `401`: x-api-key missing or not authorized
- `404`: Workflow not found
- `409`: Workflow run cannot be stopped (e.g. during initial Shelly build)
