# List custom transcoding configs

`GET /v2/sites/{site_id}/transcoding_configs/`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.jwplayer.com`
- URL: `https://api.jwplayer.com/v2/sites/{site_id}/transcoding_configs/`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

List all custom transcoding configs for a site

This endpoint returns only custom transcoding configs. An empty response means the site is using the built-in JWX Default config.

Transcoding configs apply only to media with a `renditions` hosting type. Learn more about [CMAF VOD](https://docs.jwplayer.com/platform/docs/cmaf-vod-overview).

Contact [JWX support](https://support.jwplayer.com/) to create a custom transcoding config.

## Path parameters

- `site_id` string, required: Unique identifier for a resource

## Response `200`

Request to list transcoding configs successful

- TranscodingConfigResourcesRead
  - `page` integer: Offset for returned resources
  - `page_length` integer: Maximum number of resources to return
  - `total` integer: Number of resources available before pagination
  - `transcoding_configs` TranscodingConfigResourceRead[]
    - `schema` string
    - `id` string: Unique identifier for a resource
    - `created` string: Date and time at which the resource was created
    - `last_modified` string: Date and time at which the resource was most recently modified
    - `type` string: Name of the type of resource.
    - `relationships` object: Ancilliary resources associated to the primary resource being read
    - `metadata` TranscodingConfigMetadata: A named set of transcoding settings that determines which renditions are created for a media
      - `name` string: Name of the transcoding config
      - `is_default` boolean: Whether this config is applied to media created without a `transcoding_config_id`
      - `document` TranscodingConfigDocument: Renditions to create when this config is applied
        - `renditions` object
          - `audio` TranscodingConfigAudioRendition[]
            - `codec` 'aac', required: Audio codec of the rendition
            - `channels` 1 | 2 | 6, required: Number of audio channels in the rendition.
            - `quality` integer: Quality level of the rendition. Higher levels target a higher audio bitrate.
            - `normalization` object: Loudness normalization applied to the rendition. Requires the premium transcoding entitlement; without it the rendition is created without normalization.
              - …
            - `conditions` object: Conditions the source track must meet for this rendition to be created
              - …
          - `video` TranscodingConfigVideoRendition[]
            - `codec` 'h264' | 'hevc' | 'av1', required: Video codec of the rendition. `hevc` and `av1` are only available with premium tier; without it the rendition is not created.
            - `long_edge` integer: Length of the longer edge of the rendition, in pixels — the width for horizontal video, the height for vertical video. The other edge follows from the aspect ratio. Must be even.
            - `short_edge` integer: Length of the shorter edge of the rendition, in pixels — the height for horizontal video, the width for vertical video. The other edge follows from the aspect ratio. Must be even.
            - `quality` integer: Quality level of the rendition. Higher levels target a higher quality at the cost of a higher bitrate.
            - `frame_rate` number: Exact frame rate of the rendition. When omitted, the source frame rate is preserved. Setting it above the source's rate requires the premium entitlement.
            - `frame_rate_max` number: Upper limit on the frame rate of the rendition
            - `rotation` 0 | 90 | 180 | 270: Clockwise rotation applied to the rendition, in degrees
            - `conditions` object: Conditions the source must meet for this rendition to be created. Gate the rendition on either `short_edge_min` or `long_edge_min`, not both. When neither is set, the longer source edge must be at least the longer edge of the rendition.
