# List media versions

`GET /v2/sites/{site_id}/media/{media_id}/media_versions/`

## Request

- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Retrieves a list of the media versions of a media asset.

A media version represents a distinct uploaded version of a media asset. When a media asset is re-uploaded, a new media version is created; only one version is active at a time.

## Path parameters

- `site_id` string, required: Unique identifier for a resource
- `media_id` string, required: Unique identifier for a resource

## Query parameters

- `page` integer
- `page_length` integer
- `sort` string

- MediaVersionResourcesRead: Response for retrieving a list of the media versions of a media
  - `page` integer: Offset for returned resources
  - `page_length` integer: Maximum number of resources to return
  - `total` integer: Number of resources available before pagination
  - `media_versions` MediaVersionResource[]
    - `schema` string
    - `id` string: Unique identifier for a resource
    - `created` string: Date and time at which the resource was created
    - `last_modified` string: Date and time at which the resource was most recently modified
    - `type` string: Name of the type of resource.
    - `relationships` object: Ancilliary resources associated to the primary resource being read
    - `metadata` object
    - `status` 'created' | 'processing' | 'ready' | 'failed' | 'updating': Processing status of the media version
    - `active` boolean: Whether this is the active version of the media asset
    - `error_message` string: A human-readable error message describing a processing failure

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid JSON request body
- `404`: Resource with ID supplied does not exist in account and object namespace
