# Identify the calling agent

`GET /api/v1/identity`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://justidea.agency`
- URL: `https://justidea.agency/api/v1/identity`
- Auth: OAuth 2 (authorization code, authorization URL `https://justidea.agency/oauth/authorize/`, token URL `https://justidea.agency/oauth/token/`, scopes: `site:read`)

Who the bearer token belongs to and which rate limit applies. Requires a token; without one returns 401 with WWW-Authenticate pointing at the protected resource metadata.

The agent behind the token.

  - `authenticated` true, required
  - `sub` string, required: Agent identifier from the token.
  - `scope` string, required
  - `resource` string, uri, required
  - `rateLimit` object, required
    - `policy` string, required
    - `limit` integer, required
    - `windowSeconds` integer, required

## Other responses

- `401`: A bearer token is required (code unauthorized).
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded (code rate-limited). Wait Retry-After seconds.
- `500`: Unexpected error (code internal-error). Retry later.
