# Manually trigger a workflow

`POST /api/v2/workflows/{id}/runs`

Manually trigger a workflow by its ID

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Request body

- JumpcloudHttpWorkflowsTriggerWorkflowRequest: Request body to trigger a workflow
  - `data` object, required: Data to trigger the workflow

## Response `202`

Workflow trigger accepted. Query the workflow runs endpoint to get the status of this run.

- JumpcloudHttpWorkflowsTriggerWorkflowResponse: Response containing triggered workflow run
  - `id` string: Unique identifier of the workflow run
  - `workflowId` string: Unique identifier of the workflow
  - `status` string: Status of the workflow run
  - `startedAt` string, date-time: Timestamp when the workflow run started

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request - invalid ID format or request body
- `401`: Unauthorized - authentication required
- `404`: Workflow not found
- `default`: Generic error response
