# Update the Entra external user ID for an Office 365-bound user

`PUT /office365s/{office365_id}/user/update`

Sets or updates the stored Microsoft Entra external user ID (Entra Object ID) for a single JumpCloud user bound to this Office 365 integration instance. Mirrors the Active Directory `PUT /activedirectories/{activedirectory_id}/user/update` contract. No change is written back to Microsoft. All body fields are required.

- `office365_id` string, byte, required

## Request body

- object: UpdateExternalIDRequest mirrors the Active Directory single-user update contract (adbridge UpdateInternalUserRequest): one JumpCloud user per call, identified by `user_id` in the body, scoped to the integration in the path.
  - `external_user_id` string: Microsoft Entra user Object ID (UUID). Required.
  - `user_id` string, byte: ObjectID of the JumpCloud user (hex). Required.

## Response `200`

User external ID updated successfully.

- O365UpdateExternalIDResponse: UpdateExternalIDResponse is intentionally empty, matching the Active Directory update contract (adbridge UpdateInternalUserResponse).

- `401`: Unauthenticated
- `403`: Unauthorized
- `404`: Not Found
- `409`: Conflict
- `500`: Internal Server Error
- `default`: An unexpected error response.
