# Embeddings Status

`GET /v1/embeddings/status`

## Request

Progress of the semantic index for the caller's workspace: how many nodes
exist, how many are embedded, how many remain. Drives the desktop's background
indexer and its progress UI, and is the honest answer to "is the dense lane
actually usable yet?" — `enabled` only says an embedder is CONFIGURED; `ready`
says vectors exist to search.

Capability-only, like `/health`: counts and booleans, never the model id
(`moat-no-model-names`).
