# Delete a chat

`DELETE /api/v1/chats/{chat_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.izap.ai` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.izap.ai/api/v1/chats/{chat_id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Deletes the conversation. Deleting one that is already deleted returns `410`.

- `chat_id` string, required

- DeleteChatResponse
  - `message` string, required
  - `deleted_at` string, nullable
  - `can_be_restored` boolean

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid credentials.
- `403`: The free plan does not allow deleting chats.
- `404`: The resource, or the business named in the request, does not exist.
- `410`: The chat is already deleted.
- `422`: Validation Error
- `default`: Unexpected error.
