# Create a new inventory

`POST /inventory_manager/v1/inventories`

Creates a new inventory with the specified name and optional properties.

## Request body

- object
  - `name` string: The name of the inventory
  - `description` string: Description of the inventory
  - `groups` string[]: Array of group names that will have access to this inventory (at least one group required)
  - `tags` string[]: Array of tag names to associate with this inventory. Tags will be automatically created if they don't exist.
  - `actions` InventoryManagerInventoryCreateActionsItems[]: Array of action objects to create with the inventory
    - `name` string, required: The name of the action
    - `action_type` 'iag5-service', required: The type of action that determines how it will be executed
    - `action_config` InventoryManagerInventoryCreateActionsItemsActionConfig: Configuration settings for the action
    - `action_parameters` InventoryManagerInventoryCreateActionsItemsActionParameters: Runtime parameters for the action execution
  - `createBrokerActions` boolean: Automatically create built-in broker actions (get-config, set-config, run-command, is-alive) for device broker compatibility. Custom actions with the same name will override the default broker actions.
  - `defaultClusterId` string: Default cluster ID for built-in broker actions. Required when createBrokerActions is enabled.
